FAQ

What is Tic-Tac-Toe 3D?

It's the classic game of tic-tac-toe rebuilt in three dimensions. Instead of a flat 3×3 grid, you play inside a cube and try to be the first to complete a straight line of your pieces — across, up, or through the depth of the board.

How do I win?

Line up your pieces in an unbroken straight line. In 3D that line can run along a row, a column, a vertical pillar, a face diagonal, or one of the long diagonals that cut through the whole cube.

Can I change the board size?

Yes. You can play on anything from a small 3×3×3 cube for quick games up to a 10×10×10 cube for long, highly tactical matches. The larger the board, the more ways there are to win.

Which board size is best for beginners?

Start small. A 3×3×3 or 4×4×4 cube is the easiest way to learn where winning lines run, including the diagonals through the depth of the board. Move up to bigger cubes as you get comfortable.

How do I rotate the board?

Drag with your mouse or swipe on a touchscreen to spin the cube and view it from any angle. Rotating often is the best way to spot lines forming through the depth of the board, which are easy to miss from a single viewpoint.

What happens if the board fills up with no winner?

It's a draw. If every cell is claimed and neither player has completed a line, the game ends in a tie. Careful play on small boards often ends this way, just like the paper version.

Is it free to play?

Yes, Tic-Tac-Toe 3D is completely free to play in your browser. The site is supported by advertising.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No. The game runs directly in your web browser on desktop and mobile. There is nothing to install and no plugins are required.

Do I need an account?

No account is needed to start playing. Creating a free account lets you save progress, appear on the global leaderboard and play ranked online matches.

Can I play against the computer?

Yes. A single-player mode lets you practise against an AI opponent that punishes loose moves — a good way to learn the three-dimensional patterns before facing real players.

Can I play with a friend?

Yes. You can play online multiplayer against people around the world, or local two-player by passing one device back and forth on the same screen.

Do I need to be online to play?

You need a connection to load the game and to play online multiplayer. Once the game has loaded, single-player and local two-player run in your browser.

Which devices and browsers are supported?

Tic-Tac-Toe 3D works in modern browsers on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. For the best experience, keep your browser up to date.
